Billions of tons of plastic waste generated in a year and a whopping 91% are NOT being recycled. The Return on Recycle (ROR) campaign strives to reduce the PET plastic bottles waste by introducing a monetary motivated recycling initiative to promote recycling in the Malaysian society.
This crowdfunding campaign is needed to raise funds to conduct a pilot scale ROR project in Taylor's University. People will be able to purchase PET bottles filled with handcrafted drinks from the pop up booth @ RM 3 per bottle. RM 1 will be refunded once they return the bottle to the booth. These bottles will then be sent to a recycling centre.
The RM500 fund is needed to purchase several items in order to create a physical pop up booth in Taylor's University in April 2020. The purpose of the booth is to spread awareness about recycling and to promote the ROR system to the Taylor's community. This serves as a test to see if the system is feasible to be implemented by other retail shops on campus. The funds will be used to purchase the following items:
Do your part for the society and support our initiative in creating a better system to manage plastic waste.
